A quote could be anything from a passage, sentence, possibly even a word that is directly cited from a text. We quote other writers and sources in our own work to use as textual evidence and maybe back us up on what we are trying to say. It could also provide more information and clarify anything that may be confusing. Some of the ways that I use and integrate sources into my work are first I present my main idea then cite the quote. I like to think my sources are effective but sometimes I feel that I put my quotes in an odd place and sometimes that leads to my paper to take an awkward turn.
