Journal: Everything's An Argument
Based on the reading it does seem like an argument can be any text that expresses a point of view. Three items that I have come into contact recently that make some sort of argument are toothpaste, granola, and an email about volunteering with children. The toothpaste makes the argument that it is the best and will whiten my teeth while also protecting them. The granola makes the argument that it is the best-tasting one and also the healthiest. For the email, the argument that it is making is that I should volunteer my free time to spend time with children because it would benefit me in that it would look good and it would really help out the children. All of the arguments seem to be that if I were to use or do that one thing then it would somehow benefit me.

Writing ideas W1  I am interested in writing about possibly something to do with mental heath disorders or the environment. With the mental health disorder, I could narrow down my topic to eating disorders or anxiety and the texts that I can draw my information from texts from a scientific article, Instagram posts, or even a video. I can also narrow down my topic for the environment in maybe discussing plastics in the ocean or veganism. I could also derive texts from some of the same places as mental health disorders. But going back to the disorders I am also interested in maybe going more towards the scientific side of them instead of learning how to deal with them emotionally.  Either way, I am interested to see how after reading the articles about writing will impact the way I look at these topics and the two distinct pieces of text I find on them.
Hello! My name is Daniella Trevino (nickname Dani). My older sister Nathalie was the one who actually named me, not my parents. She said she got it from one of the main characters in one of my mom's novellas she used to watch. I am from Acampo, California which is a little town where almost everyone has some sort of farm animal. An interesting detail about my family is that all of my grandparents immigrated here from Mexico. What I hope to get out of this class is a better understanding of how to write certain papers. Also, the picture that I have posted is of my cat Panini. Yes, she is overweight and yes we have tried to get her to lose some pounds.
Final Jornal: The WP that was my favorite was the first one. Being able to choose my favorite book and compare it to a different genre but still stick to the same subject was very interesting because it made me see writing and genres in a new way. The WP that was my least favorite was probably writing project 3. For WP3 it was because it challenged me creatively and although it did have a structure it was definitely more free-flowing than the others and for me, that is a little more difficult because I think I work better when the rules are a bit more rigid. My 3 takeaways from this class were how it better to kind of word vomit when writing a rough draft, genres can be used to help in the process of writing, and many people actually find it difficult to write, even famous authors. I don't think there is an aspect of the class that needs to be improved on other than maybe going over more of how to properly write an introduction and conclusion paragraphs.
